I am passionate about food, cooking, fitness and overall wellbeing. I love sharing my knowledge and helping people become the healthiest version of themselves.
I have not always eaten as clean as I do today.
Growing up I was a carnivore who only ate about six different types of fruits and vegetables. I was lucky to grow up in a house with parents who loved cooking and who served and ate dinner at the dinner table. Still, with all the love and energy around food it was hard to find a vegetable I would eat. Today there isn't a vegetable that I won’t eat.
Fast forward a few years and I’m in my first semester of Undergrad, living on my own, taking a nutritional class and having to cook on for myself. Learning more about food, nutrition, my body and my love for cooking left me hungry for knowledge. (See what I did there?!)
Fast forward a few more years and I am living in New York. Now my life revolves around food, fitness and nutrition. I am often found in the kitchen whipping up tasty treats and dishes with nutrition as the main focus. I am an avid meal prep-er. I do it most Sundays (or whenever I can) so my husband and I can have healthy, delicious meals without breaking the bank.
Over the years, my diet and views have changed dramatically. Remember young Alex who wouldn’t eat vegetables? Well, now she’s vegan! I joke that I am just making up for lost times but I really am! You will often see me with a green smoothie in my hand.
I have a wide variety of training and tools under my belt too. I love moving in both artistically and with the intention to strengthen my body. A joke within the CrossFit community is when people ask “what are you training for” your response should always be “LIFE!”. Yup! It’s truly what I believe - be strong, healthy and live my life to its fullest.
The tools under my belt:
200HR Yoga Alliance certification
200 HR Mat Pilates
AFPA Certified Sports Nutrition Coach
Level 1 CrossFit Trainer certification
FRC Certified
BFA in Dance from San Jose State University
(Soon to have) MFA in Dance from St. Mary’s College of California
