This recipe is for sure a FAN favorite amongst friends and family. Fun fact, this is the first recipe I learned to make besides a PB&J or other sandwiches. I have been repeating this recipe for almost 18 years! My uncle taught me how to make this salsa when I was 10 years old and whenever I make it I get nothing but positive reviews. My best friend still requests it every time I am with her.
It is simple to make, well rounded and flavor and easy to adjust for more or less heat. Great for parties, BBQs, taco nights or just for a Wednesday afternoon when you have a craving for chips and salsa... is that just me?
Enjoy and comment below with your thoughts about my famous salsa.
INGREDIENTS:
5 tomatoes, chopped into fourths (smaller if you have a dull blender blade)
1/2 medium red onion, chopped
2 jalapeno, seeded and sliced (leave the seeds in for more heat)
3 cloves of garlic
1 tsp sea salt
1 TLB cumin and chili powder
1 TLB red wine vinegar
1 handful of cilantro
Juice of 1 lime
Directions:
- Pile everything into a blender or food processor. Put the tomatoes on top so it will weigh the rest of the ingredients down but it will also ensure that you don't have large chunks of garlic or jalapeno.
- Pulse for 10 or 13 times until desired thin or thickness.
- Try not to eat in all in one sitting
